Something Old, Something New

One of the things nearest and dearest to me is salvaging vintage finds. I have used discarded vintage lace on many of my handmade journals and stationery items. My love for vintage textiles knows no bounds. In a strange way, the older the fabric, the more connected I feel to it. Maybe because it reminds me of my Nani’s collection of fabrics. (Or maybe that’s the historian in me). One thing is for sure, when I am working with vintage fabrics, I feel a sense of peace and joy.

I'm giving you a sneak peek into my latest creation for my home decor. Take a look at my latest samples of hand-sewn bags made with vintage fabric. Even the trim is vintage! Isn’t that adorable? I made these pouches from an old quilt that would have otherwise ended up in a bad place to be sure.

The bags are great for stashing away coins, makeup, sewing threads, coupons, labels or storage for artist brushes, crafter’s scissor and a zillion more things. Maybe even carry it as a clutch? Even better are the little affirmations I have added to support strong mental health for all of us. Of course, what makes me the happiest is knowing that they can be useful in so many ways and enjoyed by someone instead of landing up in a dustbin. I always love that! 😊 ❤

What are you working on that's giving you peace and joy?

Until next time,
Keep Creating!
